Mr. Whitaker was born on March 15, 1950, in Florence, AL to the late Joseph Robinson and Lois Loveless Whitaker.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In 1997, his family moved to Hohenwald from Mississippi. He was a member of the Berwick Baptist Church. He loved to make wine, go fishing and hunting, and was a workaholic. Mr. Whitaker made a living working in construction; building over 800 log homes across many states, ranging from Washington to New York, Florida, Louisana, New Mexico, and even some here in Hohenwald.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mr. Whitaker is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Jackie (Whittington) Whitaker; sons, Joseph Whitaker, Jr of Waynesboro and Wesley Whitaker of Centerville; daughter, Crystal (Paul) Roberts of Clacton-on-Sea, England; stepsons, David Butler and Chris Butler of Dickson; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and a close friend &amp; neighbor Teressa Hinson.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation with Mr. Whitaker&#8217;s family will be on Thursday, September 1, 2022, from 4:30 PM &#8211; 9:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home &#8211; Lewis County.
