Inez Collins Scott, 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, April <\/span>27th in her home on Mill Creek in Lyles, TN.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ms. Inez Scott was born in Olar, S.C. in 1936 and was the daughter of Ogreta Black <\/span>Collins and the late James Roy Collins. She was a retired editor of The Baptist <\/em><\/span>Sunday Board<\/em> in Nashville. She was a life-long and proud Southern Baptist, but<\/span>
\nin recent years claimed membership with the Hope Church congregation in <\/span>Centerville, TN.<\/span><\/p>\n

Survivors: two sons, Robert Scott (wife, Heidi) of Naperville, IL & Jeff Scott (wife, <\/span>Wendy) of Dickson, TN, one daughter, Susan Dale (Scott) Hudgins (husband, <\/span>David) of Lyles, TN; three grandchildren, Trey Hudgins (wife, Katy), Meagan <\/span>Hudgins and Callie Scott; one great-grandchild, Henry David Hudgins. <\/span><\/p>\n

She was <\/span>preceded in death by her son, Anthony Roy Scott; brother, Everette Collins; <\/span>sisters, Rose Ella Collins Black and Margaret Blume; her mother, Ogreta B. Collins, <\/span>and father, James Roy Collins, both of Bamberg, SC.<\/span><\/p>\n

Inez explored her many talents, which included painting, needlework, crochet, <\/span>woodworking, costume design, and dress-making (mostly for Susan’s years of <\/span>twirling competitions). Inspired by her costume design imagination and crochet <\/span>skills, Ms. Inez created hundreds of patterns for Barbie dresses, which developed <\/span>a loyal fanbase.<\/span><\/p>\n

Besides church, Inez enjoyed spending time at the Senior Citizen’s Center and the <\/span>time spent Saturday mornings at the Grinder’s Switch Radio Hour, which she still <\/span>listened to from home during her time of illness. But there is one thing Inez did\u00a0<\/span>
\nnot miss – her basketball games!<\/span><\/p>\n

To say Inez loved people is clearly an understatement. She was always seen with <\/span>a smile on her face and a positive word of encouragement to those around her, <\/span>she will be missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. <\/span><\/p>\n

Memorials may be made to the Hope Church Building Fund.<\/span><\/p>\n

There will be a Celebration of Life Service held on 28 May 2022 at 11:00 AM at Hope Church, Centerville, TN. Visitation with the family will precede the Service from 10:00 – 11:00 AM.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n
