George R. Winters Services for George R. Winters of Hickman County were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2011 in the chapel of McDonald Funeral Home. Bill McDonald, Bill Millspaugh, and Bobby Kelley officiated. Interment took place in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hickman County. Mr. Winters, 87, was born February 16, 1923 on Hassell Creek in Hickman County to the late George Washington and Sarah Nichols Winters. Mr. Winters was a retired metal finisher for Cadillac Motor Division and a member of the New Antioch Church of Christ. He is survived by two daughters, Sharron Aldrich of Hickory, North Carolina and Wanda Stawinski of Hamtramck, Michigan; one son, George Winters of Lyles; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sallie Millspaugh of Hohenwald and Annie Caroline Pickett of Centerville. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Verdia Estes Winters.
