Wilson, Paul Timothy
Paul Timothy Wilson, 71, of Hohenwald, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claudia and Quinten Wilson, three siblings, Phyllis Wilson, Mark Wilson and Mary Elizabeth Allen, and a step-son, Dean Dawson.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of 21 years, Winona “Nonie” Wilson, step-children, David Dawson, Dale Dawson, Danette Layne (Floyd McGee), Dawn Baker (Chuck), Darla Rose Jones (Jerry), 16 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, three siblings, Patrick Wilson, Martha Backus and Althea Moon, and numerous extended relatives and friends.
Paul’s naval career was marked by honor, courage, and commitment. He proudly served his country, rising through the ranks with distinction. As a Navy veteran, he exemplified the core values of integrity and selflessness.
Beyond his military service, Paul contributed to the civilian world as well. For many years, he worked as a Technician at BellSouth, where his technical expertise and work ethic left a lasting impact.
He had a passion for automobiles. Whether it was tinkering with model cars or admiring classic vehicles, he found solace in the world of wheels.
In quieter moments, Paul would settle into his favorite armchair, remote control in hand, tuning in to the History Channel. The channel’s documentaries and historical programs fascinated him, and he absorbed knowledge about the past with an insatiable curiosity.
But Paul’s interests extended beyond machines and history. He shared a unique bond with his wife, spending evenings together working on 3D puzzles and even taking up knitting. Their hands intertwined, they wove memories stitch by stitch, creating warmth and love in every loop.
