Robert K Whitmore, a man affectionately known as Bob was known for his loving nature, humorous spirit, and zest for life, passed away on December 1, 2023, in Nashville, TN, at the age of 69. Born on September 10, 1954, in Hamilton, OH, to the late Robert and Myrna Watson Whitmore, Robert’s early years in Ohio set the stage for a lifetime of cherished memories and enduring relationships.

A proud father and grandfather, Robert is survived by his daughters, Suzanna Whitmore (Dale Couch) and Jessica Whitmore, and son, Robert Whitmore II (Sheena Gordon). He was a guiding light in the lives of his grandchildren, Dylan Bruchs, Sean Whitmore, Ariah Presley, and Madison Couch. Robert’s significant other, Beverly Haller, and her granddaughter, Delilah, whom he adored as his own, also survive him. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. The Whitmore family mourns the loss of Bob, as does the memory of his late son, Jason Navel, who preceded him in death, as well as his grandmother who was like a mother to him Mrs. Katherine Whitmore.

Bob’s professional life was marked by his dedication to his craft as a welder. His skilled hands and keen eye were not only his trade but also his art. He was a respected member of his work community, where his contributions were valued, and his presence will be deeply missed.

An outdoorsman at heart, Bob’s passions included hunting, fishing, and simply being on the water—activities that reflected his appreciation for nature’s beauty and serenity. His garden was a testament to his patience and care, yielding bountiful harvests that he loved to share with family and friends. Bob’s love for rock and roll was legendary; his spirit would visibly lift with the opening chords of a favorite song, and his laughter was most infectious during these times.

Those who knew Bob will remember him for his kindheartedness and the spirited sense of humor that could light up any room. He had the unique ability to turn a stranger into a friend with just a few words, and his warmth was felt by all who had the pleasure of his company.

Bob’s life was one of joy and fulfillment, marked by the simple pleasures that he found in the everyday. An occasional recreational smoke was his guilty pleasure, a nod to the free-spirited side of a man who believed in living life to the fullest.
