Walker, June Brown
Mrs. June B. Walker was born June Blondell Brown June 1, 1939, to the parents of Matt and Willie Mae Brown of Centerville TN. She was a 1959 graduate of O.H Bernard High School.
Mrs. Walker accepted Christ at a young age at the Columbia Ave Church of God, where at the request from the mothers of the church would often sing the” The Lord Will Make a Way Somehow”. You know she was a Brown and they all got that voice.
It was her marriage to Mr. Garland Walker in 1980, that permitted her to drop the middle name that she hated so much. A homemaker who enjoyed cooking her famous Sunday Dinners for her nephews David, Steven, Terry, Ernesto and Carlos who would come visit her and her husband, Garland Walker on Wells St. every Sunday. She often said “if the nieces want to eat they had better beat them boys up here.”
Mrs. Walker is proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, Garland Walker, her siblings, Geneva Robinson, Louis Perkins, Ophelia Frazier, Fred T. Brown, Edmonia Woolridge and Ruby Gray; her nieces, Maria Ramos, Ella Woolridge, Valarie Brown and Chris Corbin. Two nephews, Steven Woolridge and Harold (Danny) Frazier, one great-niece, Shanelle Ramos and one great-nephew, Vidall Corbin.,
Mrs. Walker is survived by her loving and devoted sister, Carolyn Johnson with the assistance of her son Terry “Bumpa Sticka” Johnson.
Mrs. Walker’s children are Michael (Donna) Brown, Centerville TN, Brenda Clark, El Paso TX, Ruby Peters, Centerville TN, Marion and James Brown, Mt. Pleasant, TN and Thomas Cummings, Chattanooga TN. Twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, fourteen nieces and nephews, 30 great-nieces and nephews, along with ten great-great-nieces and nephews.
