Vaughn, Roger Wayne
Roger Wayne Vaughn was born April 13, 1950, in Wrigley, Tennessee to the late Grover Cleveland and Nola Cotham Vaughn, and died on August 31, 2021, in Franklin, Tennessee, at the age of 71.
He was a US Army veteran that served in the Vietnam War. He worked as a contractor in the Franklin, Tennessee area from the 1970s to the 1990s. He was known for building homes the right way and took his time. He would drive a nail in two hits every time.
When Roger was younger he enjoyed messing with old cars. He last owned a ’68 Chevelle. He loved watching races and sports. He oftentimes would stay on the phone with his brother Paul through an entire broadcast commentating on whatever event they happened to be watching.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Grover Jr. and Billy Vaughn.
He was married to Diane Vaughn for 42 years. Although the two had gone their separate ways, Diane was there to make sure he and Andrew were taken care of.
Survivors include his son, Andrew Vaughn of Franklin. Brother, Paul (Barbara) Vaughn of Marion, Kentucky. Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Terry and Debbie Banks, Roger and Cookie Mays, and Ester Puckett. Several nieces and nephews. Along with many other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
He will be remembered as a loving father, family man, and a good friend.
Visitation will be 2 September 2021 from 11;00 AM – 2:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County.
Funeral Services will be conducted 2 September 2021 at 2:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County with burial to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Centerville, TN.
