Plummer Harrison Vaughn Local businessman Plummer Harrison, age 87, passed away peacefully at his home on December 9, 2009. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. December 11, 2009 in the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel with Malcolm George, minister of Lomax Church of Christ, officiating. Interment followed in the Swiss Cemetery Mausoleum. Mr. Vaughan was born May 11, 1922 in Big Rock, Tennessee to the late Plummer Harrison Vaughan Sr. and Effie Laura Stimpson Vaughan. He and his wife of 63 years, Martha Elizabeth Ellis Vaughan, moved to Hohenwald in 1959 to establish V & W Ready Mix Concrete Company. In addition to his wife, Mr. Vaughan is survived by a son, Johnny R. Vaughan of Hohenwald; two daughters, Gypsy Jo (Gary) Schwendimann and Scarlette Woodall, both of Hohenwald; one sister, Nell Moore of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; five granddaughters, Elizabeth Marie Vaughan of Hohenwald, Heidi (Russell) Cothran of Columbia, Kathryn “Cassi” Lark (Eric) Parsons of Nashville, Poppy (Perry) Bass of Bremen, Georgia, and Jade Woodall of Nashville; one grandson, Noah Vaughan Woodall of Hohenwald; one great granddaughter, Paisley Burklow of Carrollton, Georgia; and one great grandson, Harrison Cothran of Columbia. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 73, at Citizens Bank in Hohenwald, to be used for their Needy Children’s Christmas Fund.
