James Robert Tucker was born on October 8, 1947, and passed away on March 1, 2024 at the age of 76.

Mr. Tucker is the son of the late Carl Minor and Sarah Ruth Church Tucker. He is also preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Jean and his grandparents Sam C. and Mary Erwin Anderson Tucker and Robert Hayden and Iola Baker Church, all descendants of the early pioneer settlers of Hickman County.

Mr. Tucker is survived by his wife of 51 years Kathy Burgess Tucker of Maury County, whom he married on October 6, 1972, son James Carl Tucker, daughter in law Ashley M. Tucker and Granddaughters Abigail Ann Tucker and Harper Louise Tucker along with many other friends and relatives.

James was a lifelong farmer in the Shady Grove community. In early childhood he attended the historic Shady Grove school and graduated from Hickman County High School. He enjoyed sitting in the local Shady Grove store and holding forth with the rest of the local sages. James was a member and deacon of the Edgewood Baptist Church.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Edgewood Baptist Church, Centerville, TN.  A gathering of friends and family will precede the service starting at 9 AM.
