Townsend, Phyllis
Phyllis Townsend, age 82, passed away at her home in Arkansas on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. She was born on October 3, 1942, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of Mildred Stevens and the late Edward Stevens.
Phyllis Townsend served on the Lewis County School Board for over twenty years. She worked with her late husband, Billy W. Townsend, and loved volunteering in classrooms at Lewis County Elementary.
Phyllis was married to the late Judge Billy W. Townsend for 34 years.
Survivors include three daughters, Lisa (Ronnie) McGehee and Cindy Glover both of Star City, Arkansas, and Sherri Brooks of Hohenwald, Tennessee; two step-daughters, Becky (Rob) Rawdon and Skipper Townsend both of Hohenwald, Tennessee; one sister, Kathy (Philip) Spence; two brothers, Tommy Stevens of Parsons, Tennessee and Robert (Linda) Stevens of Eureka, Missouri; mother, Mildred Stevens of Parsons; grandchildren, Jeremy (Ally) McGehee, Breanna (Kevin) Chambliss, Maegan (Brandon) Brewer, Sarah (Wyatt) Parker, Jacob Glover, Michael McCullom, Robert Rawdon, Ethan (Jennifer) Rawdon, Collin Townsend, and David Townsend; great-grandchildren, Hunter Brewer, Kyleigh Brewer, Saleen Chambliss, Serenity Chambliss, Navaeh, and Diamond.
Visitation with the Townsend family will begin at 2:00 PM and continue until service time at 3:00 PM on 8 Dec 2024 in the chapel of McDonald Funeral Home – Lewis County. Burial will follow in Davis-Oak Grove Cemetery, Hohenwald, TN.
