Bernice Goins Tidwell, age 91, of Lyles, Tennessee, passed away on March 6, 2024, in Dickson, Tennessee. Bernice was born on May 4, 1932, in Lyles, Tennessee to the late Alex Jordan Goins and Mary Jane Russell Goins.

Bernice wore many hats throughout her career. She worked at Red Cap for many years, at the jail with her husband, then as a cook at the local Hospital and School.

In addition to her parents Bernice is preceded in death by her husband John Tidwell, brother, Roy Goins and brother Clifford Goins.

She was an avid gardener with a nurturing soul who delighted in caring for blossoming blooms over the spring season. She enjoyed the sweet pleasures of baking and was best known for her chocolate gravy and biscuits and treasured the family companions, Tater and Pumpkin.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughters Linda (Joe) Stokes of Vanleer, Tennessee, Debbie (Mike) Rivers of Nunnelly, Tennessee, son, Ronald (Barbie) Tidwell of Lyles, Tennessee, grandchildren, Joanne, Wade, Clay, Jeremy, Drew, Adam, Greg and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  

Graveside Services will be held 8 March 2024 at 11:00 AM at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Centerville, TN.
