Templeton, James F
Born in Van Buren County, Tennessee on September 28, 1938, to the late Ollie Elnora and Elbert Eston Templeton. James answered the call to service early in life, serving honorably in the United States Air Force, where he forged friendships and values that would guide him throughout his life. During his military service, James became an active and devoted member of the Masonic Lodge in 1971, finding brotherhood and purpose among his fellow Masons and taking pride in the lodge’s work in supporting others. James was a past grand lecturer for the most worshipful grand lodge of Masons in Tennessee.
James was blessed with a loving family. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Sue Templeton, with whom he shared many happy years. After her passing, he was fortunate to find love again and remarried, Betty Templeton, finding joy in a renewed partnership. Together, they built a life filled with family gatherings, laughter, and cherished memories.
He is survived by his three children: Mike Templeton of Columbia, Tennessee, Randy (Molly) Templeton of Decatur, Alabama, Cindy Morgan (Mike Bair) of Columbia, Tennessee; five grandchildren: David Templeton, Heather Templeton, Wendy (Matt) Rohweder, Eston (Brittney) Templeton, Stephen (Sarah) Morgan and a host of great-grandchildren, and extended family members, all of whom brought immense pride and happiness into his life. He treasured each member of his growing family.
Mr. James Franklin Templeton will be remembered for his devotion, not only to his family but to his country, his Masonic brothers, and the community he served. His family was his greatest joy, and he will be remembered for the wisdom, humor, and kindness he shared with each of them.
