Arthur Alvin Tate, of Milan, Tennessee, passed away on October 11, 2025, at the age of 86. He was born on February 19, 1939, in Only, Tennessee, to the late Burford Tate and Jessie Brake Tate.

Alvin is survived by his daughter, Darlene (Russ) Hawkins, and his son, Luther (Carla) Tate; a special daughter, Laura (Randy) Newton; and his sister, Joyce Cayce. He was a devoted grandfather to Dustin (Jennifer) Hawkins, Melanie (Michael) Kelly, Marlena Hawkins, Brandon Tate, Matthew Tate, and Jana Tate. He was also a beloved great-grandfather to Kenadie Hawkins, Natalie Hawkins, and Hazel Tate.

In addition to his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Yvonne Tibbs Tate; his grandson, Thaniel Tate; great-grandson, Hudson Tate; sister, Betty Tate; and brother, Robert Ray Tate.

Alvin worked for 35 years as a line supervisor with Ormet Aluminum Mill Products Corporation. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Alvin leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and quiet strength. He was a steady presence in the lives of his family, and the values he lived by will continue to guide and inspire those who knew him.
