Stormes, Donalie Ann
Donalie Ann (Owens) Stormes, 45, lost her battle with breast cancer December 8, 2009, at her home in Vichy, Missouri. Funeral services were held at the Highway E Church of Christ in Rolla, Missouri at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2009 with George Hewlett officiating. Null and Son Funeral Home of Rolla was in charge of arrangements. She was an accomplished educator earning her Bachelor of Science from David Lipscomb University in English Education. She taught in Paragould, Arkansas and Vienna, Missouri before moving to the Rolla School district. While at the Rolla High School, she taught English, worked with the Student Council, Link Crew and the Student 2 Student Program. She attained the honor of being named Educator of the Year for the Rolla School System in 2009. Mrs. Stormes was also a member of Chapter EM of PEO. She served on the Little Prairie Bible Camp board and was a member of Highway E Church of Christ in Rolla. Donalie was born October 14, 1964 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Donald Lee Owens and Dianna Jean (Gordon) Owens. She was married to Russell Andrew (Andy) Stormes and had two children: Margaret (Maggie) Ann Stormes and Russell Isaac Stormes of Vichy. In addition to her husband, children and mother, she is survived by a sister, Deena Rae Owens Reeves of Hohenwald; a brother, Darren Lee Owens, also of Hohenwald; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Sue Stormes of Rolla, Missouri. Her father, Donald Lee Owens, preceded her in death. A scholarship fund has been established in Donalie’s name for students to attend Missouri Association of Student Council Summer Leadership Camp.
