Mr. Johnny Starling of Hohenwald passed from this life on Friday, November 4, 2022, at the age of 65.

Johnny was born on June 18, 1957, in Bluefield, WV, to Johnny Starling, Sr. and Betty Jo (Woodie) Starling. He eventually moved to Hohenwald where he met and married the love of his life, Kay (Kealhofer) Starling. They were married until her passing in 2018.

Johnny was an extremely hard worker and never sat still for a minute. He worked at DANA in Hohenwald until its closing and then began work with TDOT. After his retirement from there, he ran a full-time mowing service which he mowed many yards for people in Middle Tennessee. He loved the outdoors and spent many hours in the woods hunting and lots of time fishing with his buddies. Johnny loved watching football, but above all he was a dedicated Alabama fan until the very end. He yelled “Roll Tide” until his last breath.

He is survived by his son, Klint Starling of Birmingham, AL, and his brother-in-law, Kent Kealhofer of Palm Springs, CA. His mother and his wife, Kay Starling, precede him in death.

Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home – Lewis County. Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Swiss Cemetery, Hohenwald, TN.
