Mr. Jesse Eldridge Staggs passed away peacefully on August 28, 2023, at the age of 86. He was born on April 26, 1937, in Lawrence County to Harland Staggs and Rosie Catherine McCluskey Staggs.

He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. He was a hard-working man. He spent many of his years as a fireman, a deputy sheriff, and also as a certified locksmith.

In addition to his parents, Harland and Rosie Staggs, he is preceded in death by his wife, Annie Ruth Staggs; daughter, Joyce Gayle Staggs; son, Ricky Glenn Staggs; grandson, David Dwayne Staggs; and his brothers, Waymer Staggs and Elmer Staggs.

He leaves behind his sister, Rebecca Staggs; son, Ronnie (Joyce) Staggs; daughter of the heart, Angela Whitmarsh; great-grandson, Ethan Staggs; great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Shea Staggs; great-great-grandson, Jaxon; granddaughter, Ashley; and two great-granddaughters, Cadence and Cailyn.

Funeral services for Mr. Staggs will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of McDonald Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will begin Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Mr. Staggs will be laid to rest beside his wife, Annie Ruth in Melton Cemetery, Hohenwald, TN.
