Wilma Helen Spurgeon Wilma Helen Spurgeon, age 80, died February 17, 2010 at her home in Hohenwald. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. February 19, 2010 in the chapel of McDonald Funeral Home. Van Ward, minister of Little Swan Church of Christ, and Glen Floyd, pastor of Freedom Holy Temple, officiated. Burial took place in the Downey Cemetery. Mrs. Spurgeon was married to the late Claude Ray Spurgeon. She was born February 18, 1930 in Hohenwald to the late Carlos Pope and Rosa Dial Pope. Survivors include two sons, Ray Eugene Spurgeon and Lanny Earl Spurgeon; two daughters, Shirley Spurgeon and Patsy Dash; ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
