Spiess, William C
William Christopher Spiess, nineteen-year-old beloved son of Christopher and Heather Spiess, passed away tragically on Sunday morning, November 12, 2023, in Hohenwald.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home with Deacon Ray Seibold officiating. A visitation will also be held on Thursday from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Maury Memorial Gardens where a private service will be held. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on December 2, 2003, in Nashville, and raised in Columbia, Will was the cherished son of Christopher Brett Spiess and Heather Marie Seibold Spiess. Currently in the eleventh grade at Columbia Central High School, Will’s favorite class was Agriculture. Through a school program, he was able to work at Thrift Love which he thoroughly enjoyed. He also was a member of the CHS Best Buddies Organization. Will loved sports, especially football and basketball. Recognizable by his cowboy hat and boots, he delighted in dancing to Country and Rock n Roll music. Will’s infectious smile, positive spirit, and outgoing nature meant he never met a stranger, and his playful flirtations with the girls were a testament to his lively personality. Above all, Will held a deep and special love for his family, friends, and his faithful dog, Chloe. He was also a devoted member of St. Catherine Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, he leaves behind to cherish his memory his brother, Ethan Spiess of Berryville, Arkansas, sister, Anna Spiess of Columbia, grandparents, Raymond & Kerri Seibold of Columbia, Karen Gilley of Decaturville, Larry (Joann) Spiess of Dyersburg, aunts and uncles, Kelly Acheson of Columbia, Kenny (Kristin) Seibold of Spring Hill, Jeremy (Lisa) Spiess of Canaan, New Hampshire, Ashley (Shaun) Nay of Hohenwald, and cousins, Taylor, Sebastian, Samuel, Noah, Chance, Diana, Lucas, Rylee, Tatum, Lily, and Ember.
Will was preceded in death by his Papaw, Danny Gilley.
Proudly serving as pallbearers are Joe Cedillo, Trace Schoeberl, Cole Endsley, Hayden Davis, Sebastian Acheson, Will Robertson, Lucas Nay, Dylan Wray, and Wesley Coates. Honorary pallbearers will include the members of Columbia Central High School Best Buddies.
