Spencer, Ann Marie
Mrs. Ann Marie Spencer, age 72 of the Duck River community, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2024, with her husband by her side. Ann was born to the late Warren and Evelyn Turl on February 16, 1952, in Nashville, Tennessee.
After graduating from John Overton High school in 1970, Ann attended MTSU where she pursued her degree in Early Childhood Education and graduated in 1974. Her lifelong passion for teaching led her to a rewarding career as a kindergarten, pre-first grade, and a Title reading teacher all at Centerville Elementary. Here, she dedicated 39 years to shaping young minds with her patience, creativity and kindness.
Ann was known for her warm heart, gentle spirit and unwavering dedication to her church family and friends. Ann was a devoted member at the Centerville Church of Christ and a fearless leader for the local girl scout troop for several years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and attending Nashville Predator hockey games.
Beyond her professional life, Ann was known for her unwavering love for dogs. Over the years Ann and her husband rescued, adopted and rehabilitated several dogs, providing them with a loving home and a second chance at life. Her compassion for animals was evident in all that she did.
Ann was a devoted wife, and cherished every moment spent with family. She is survived by her husband, Marshall Spencer of Duck River, Tennessee, sister, Mary Duncan of Woodbury, Tennessee, brother, Warren Turl Jr., of Chattanooga, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Visitation with the family will be 23 May 2024 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County. A Memorial Service will be held 1 June 2024 at 2:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County.
