Spears, Jace Richard
A native of Lewis County lost his life on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in an unusual automobile accident in Nashville. Jace Richard Spears, age 60 of Columbia, was working with the Civil Contractors of Franklin. He apparently went to move his vehicle which was blocking the entrance to a construction zone in the 600 block of South 8th Street in Nashville. It was reported Spears had one foot inside the truck and the other outside the open driver’s side door when he lost his balance and fell to the ground. The truck then rolled over him. Spears was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center, where he died. Spears was born September 15, 1958 in Hohenwald, the son of Colleen Spears and the late Richard Spears. A celebration of life was held Saturday, January 26, 1:30 p.m., at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home in Nashville. He is survived, in addition to his mother, by his daughter, Tabitha Spears; sisters, Sadona Chance, Vanessa Hook and Sherry Cooper; and former wife, Patricia Spears. Spears was preceded in death by his father, Richard Spears; grandparents, Dol and Arzell Willis, Alma and Richard Spears; brothers-in-law, Roy Seagraff, Pete Chance and Michael Martin.
