Alvin Edward Spears, 85, of Summertown, TN, passed away on September 6, 2019, at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born on May 13, 1934, to Paul and Minnie Mae Spears, in Lewis County.

He was a factory worker at Stauffer Chemical for many years.

Survivors include son, Timothy Spears (Angie) of Summertown, TN, brother, Willis Spears (Jane) of Summertown, TN, sister, Vernie Spears of Summertown, TN, five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents,  Paul and Minnie Mae Spears,  his wife, Ruth Ann Powell Spears, his brothers, Vincent Spears, Frank Spears, Loyd Spears, Roy Spears,and  Albert Spears, and his sister, Margaret Stephens.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2019, from 6:00 PM-9:00 PM, at the McDonald Funeral Home – Lewis County. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, September 9, 2019, at 10:00 AM, in the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel. Kyle Conner will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Himes Cemetery, Hohenwald, TN.
