Smith, Wanda Jean
Wanda Jean Smith, 61, of Hohenwald passed away on Thursday March 5, 2020 at Tristar Centennial Hospital in Nashville. Born April 22, 1958 in Ardmore, OK to Raymond Levi and Ella Ruth (Ferrell) Vaughn currently of Murfreesboro, TN. Ms. Smith was preceded in death by her daughter April Smith.
Wanda was known to be the jack of all trades. She dabbled in many different things including factory work at Siegel’s or cement work for the citizens of Hohenwald. Ms. Smith also enjoyed sewing and playing cards in her free time. On beautiful days she could be found outside working in her flower garden or loving on her favorite dog, Sassy. She also loved softball and played on a team for 1st State Bank of Perry County. Ms. Wanda had a heart of gold and would often look after many children in Hohenwald. There is no telling how many children’s lives she has touched during her time here. She lived each moment to the fullest and her love for her family was undeniable. She will be missed by so many.
Along with her parents she is survived by her son John (Heather) Smith Jr.; grandchildren Katelyn Huneryager and Easton Smith; brother Keith (Jennifer) Vaughn; sisters Sharon (Charlie) Few and Janice (Scott) Wagner; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Sunday March 8, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. A gathering of friends and family will be from 12:00 PM until time of service.
