Smith, Dee Ann
Dee Ann Smith, a beloved resident of Hidden Valley Lakes, passed away peacefully at her home on August 10, 2025. She was 63 years old.
Dee was born on November 6, 1961, in Hendersonville, Tennessee, to the late Alexander Bud Smith and Lillian Mae Pryor Whited. She spent her life surrounded by family, friends, and the quiet beauty of the country she loved.
She is survived by her children, Rachel Smith of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, and Johnathan London Smith of Flagstaff, Arizona; her cherished grandson, Damein Smith, who lovingly called her “Nanna Banana”; and her siblings, Gary (Pam) McCloud of Bethpage, Tennessee, Pat (Chester) Lowery of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and Holly (Mark) Hoffarth, also of Hendersonville.
Dee retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority, where she worked as a groundsman. Though she had a tough exterior, those who knew her understood how deeply she cared for others. Her pride in her children and grandson was evident to all who met her. In the Valley, she was known for her generosity—often cooking for neighbors and friends—and for her love of riding her four-wheeler through the countryside, whether with company or alone.
Dee found joy in the simple things: family, friendship, and the peace of rural life. She touched many lives with her kindness and will be deeply missed.
In accordance with her wishes, Dee will be cremated. The family thanks everyone for their love and support during this time.
