Slayton, Carol Ann
Carol Ann Slayton, 73, of Meadville, Pennsylvania passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021 at the home of her daughter in Atlantic, following a brief illness.
Carol was born at the former Geneva Hospital in Geneva, on April 20, 1947, a daughter of the late John O. and Madelyn (Soules) Smith.
On July 1, 1966, Carol married Paul E. Slayton. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2016.
After more than 20 years of service, Carol retired, one day after her 60th birthday, from Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community where she had been employed as both a nurse’s aide and in transportation. Some of her hobbies included fishing and cooking and her delicious soups were among the family favorites. A member of American Legion Post #111, she was also a 50 year member of the auxiliary where she made many friends and enjoyed playing small games of chance. Carol’s family was the most important part of her life; her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were at the center of her world. She will be sadly missed.
Carol is survived by a daughter Kimberly Pfaff (Lester, Jr.) of Atlantic; a son, Brian Slayton (Marijo) of Crossingville; four grandchildren, Anthony Mulidoro (Chandra) of Saegertown, Nicolaus Mulidoro (Ashton) of New Castle, Morgan Pfaff (fiance’ Tyson Meisheid) of Iowa, and Kalee Slayton of Crossingville; five great-grandchildren, Hunter, Chase and Avery Mulidoro, Bodi and Baker Mulidoro; two sisters, Janet Robinson (Charlie) of Meadville, and Sandy Tatum (Larry) of Hohenwald; two brothers, Michael Smith (Shellee) of Ormond Beach, Florida, and Richard Smith (Bonnie) of Conneaut Lake; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Paul, of 49 years.
Per Carol’s wishes, no services will be held.
