Mrs. Minnie Jane Roberson Simmons was born November 23, 1934, to William (Shorty) and Pearl Roberson. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27th at Maury Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. She was surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her daughter Karen (John) Eglinton; brother, Jerry Paul (Cathey) Roberson; granddaughter, Emily (Brice) VanHook; and grandson, Jessie (Olivia) Eglinton. Jane loved her five wonderful great-grandchildren, Asher, Baker, Lily, Bray, and Martha Jo.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Howard Simmons, and brothers, Huey Roberson and Melvin Roberson.
She was a long-time member of Hohenwald First United Methodist Church where she leaves behind many dear friends.
Granny Jane loved James more than life itself. Their favorite thing to do together was to take rides in the country and on the Natchez Trace. James made countless hours of video of their nature walks, visits to old home places as well as all cemeteries all around Lewis, Wayne, and Perry Counties. She loved her work as a seamstress at several different manufacturing plants. She enjoyed retirement, her church, and helping take care of her grandchildren.
She will be missed by so many.
