Jason D. Shepherd, aged 46, of Mt Pleasant, TN, passed away on February 25, 2024. Born in Lawrenceburg, TN. on November 13, 1977, to Larry Shepherd and Sara Cotham, Jason was a man whose vibrant presence and infectious laughter brought joy and comfort to all who were fortunate to know him.

A father, Jason is survived by his cherished children Dainara Shepherd, Sara Brazier, Trevor Helson, and Caleb Shepherd. His legacy of love and laughter also lives on through his adoring grandchildren Rebelle-Lynn Brazier, Skylin Bennett, Charlotte Brazier, and one grandchild eagerly anticipated to join the family. Jason was a beloved brother to Thomas Brewer, Jeremy Wayne Shepherd, Jacob Shepherd and Joshua Shepherd, and a treasured grandson to Fannie Cotham. His life was further enriched by the companionship of his very special friend, Melissa Turner.

Jason’s life was filled with the sounds of guitar strings and echoes of laughter, as he grew into a man known for his funny and friendly nature. He had a talent for lightening the mood of any room with his loud and playful sense of humor, often picking on family members in a show of affection that became one of his signature ways of expressing love.

An avid enthusiast of shooting guns, Jason found joy in the outdoors and the simple pleasures of life. His hands were as skilled with a guitar as they were steady when aiming for targets, and his passion for these interests was infectious. Jason’s love for music and marksmanship was only matched by his love for his family.

Those who knew Jason will remember him as a man who lived life to the fullest, with a heart as open as the Tennessee sky under which he was born and raised. His ability to forge connections with people from all walks of life was a testament to his warm and approachable personality. Jason’s laughter was a gift that he gave freely and one that will be profoundly missed.
