Sharp, Jerry Brown
Mr. Jerry Brown Sharp, born July 23, 1945, to the late Fred Alfred Sharp & Altie (Cotham) Sharp, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023, at the age of 77.
Jerry served six years with the United States Marines and 33 years with the Tennessee National Guard for a total of 39 years. During his service, he served during the Vietnam War and Iraqi Freedom. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and was a proud veteran who honored his fellow brothers and sisters by attending their funerals.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Sharp, sons, Freddy (Amy) Sharp and Jerry W. (Sheryl) Sharp, daughters, Kathreen (Brian) Willis and Suzy (Joey) Mincieli of Murfreesboro, sister, Nancy Chessor of Centerville, eight grandchildren, Austin Willis, Alexandria Reynolds, Andrew Willis, Talon Mincieli, Teagan Mincieli, Henry Sharp, Harvey Sharp & Hunley Sharp, two twin great-grandsons on the way, along with numerous nieces, nephews and many veteran friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death, by brothers, Edd Sharp and William “Bud” Sharp, and sister, Mary Kelly.
Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Lewis County with Funeral Services to immediate follow at 1:00 PM with Bill Webb officiating. Burial & Military Honors will follow the service in the Bastin Cemetery, Hohenwald, TN.
