Roy Hanes Shannon was born March 7, 1938, and died May 27, 2020, at the age of 82 years. A native of the Maury County community of Cathey’s Creek, he was the son of late Hanes Thompson and Rebecca Savage Shannon.

Mr. Shannon is survived by his wife, Clara Armstrong Shannon, daughter, Rebecca (Charles) Dorris, and son, David (Tracie) Shannon. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Colton (Rachel) Shannon, Lacie (Clint) Haynes, Rong Wang, Emilie (Josh) Terry, Zara Dorris, Zena Dorris, Zola Dorris, and five great-grandchildren, Max Shannon, Meryl Shannon, Murphy Shannon, Oliver Haynes, and Trai Evans.

Mr. Shannon was also preceded in death by his brother, Dan Shannon.

Visitation will be  5 June 2021 from at Centerville Church of Christ, Centerville, TN from 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM,  A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 PM.
