Schultz, Kathleen Peery
Kathleen Peery Schultz of Oak Ridge died Sunday, September 1, 2002 at her home. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, September 3, 2002 at 8:00 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary with Harold Scott officiating, assisted by James Lampley and Milton Stanley. Gravesite services were held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Mrs. Schultz was born in New Philadelphia, Ohio. She was the daughter of Hubert Luther and Sue Elizabeth Beasley Peery. She graduated from Tennessee Polytechnic Institute. She retired in 1982 from the Oak Ridge School System, having worked as a teacher at Woodland Elementary School. Mrs. Schultz was a member of the New York Avenue Church of Christ. She was also a very dedicated and active volunteer at the Methodist Medical Center, achieving over 5,000 volunteer hours. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Neil B Schultz; a son, Dr. Richard Lang Schultz, and his and his wife, Barbara of Oak Ridge; a daughter, Kathy Sue Bauer and her husband, Michael, of Little Rock, Arkansas; a brother, Fred Beasely Peery, and wife, Lucy, of Guntersville, Alabama; six grand children and two great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of contributions to the Methodist Medical Center Volunteers, 990 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge, TN 37830 or to the New York Avenue Church of Christ, 219 New York Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN, 37830.
