Debbie Sanders, passed away on March 15, 2025, at the age of 62, in Summertown, Tennessee. Born on January 4, 1963, in Alabama, Debbie grew up in a world filled with the warmth of a close-knit family, under the loving care of her late parents, Homer and Irene Sanders.
A graduate with an associate’s degree in accounting, Debbie dedicated many years of her career to working at the Goodwill in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Her professional life was marked by the same compassion and generosity that she carried in her personal endeavors. Debbie’s colleagues will remember her as a diligent and warm-hearted individual who brought joy and a sense of belonging to the workplace.
Debbie relished in the moments spent reading, a pastime that allowed her to explore countless worlds and ideas. Shopping was another joy, a way to connect with friends and family while discovering new treasures. Her love for flowers was evident in the care she took to surround herself with beauty, creating spaces that reflected the vibrancy of her spirit.
Debbie’s heart was always with her family, the cornerstone of her life. Her children survive her, Randi Dewitt Kilpatrick (Elvis) and Amanda Gene DeWitt; her cherished grandchildren, Hunter and Alexis Kilpatrick; her loving sister, JoAnn Carroll (Mike); and her special niece, Jenny Hull (Billy), along with several other nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. Her brother Robin Sanders predeceased her. Debbie’s life was further enriched by her lifelong partner, Kenny Belew, who stood by her as a source of unwavering support and love.
Graveside services to celebrate Debbie’s life will be conducted on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Sanders-Hull Cemetery in Summertown, Tennessee beginning at 2:00 pm. Here, family and friends will gather to share memories and honor the legacy of a woman whose impact on their lives will forever be cherished.
