Roberson, Melvin Ray
The beautiful life of Melvin Ray Roberson came to a close on September 9, 2023, at St. Thomas Hickman Hospital in Centerville, Tennessee. Melvin Ray Roberson was born on February 1, 1958, in Centerville, Tennessee to Nathaniel Roberson Sr., and to the late Ruby Nell Hornbeak Greene.
Melvin Roberson was a remarkable man and his journey on this earth touched the hearts of so many. Melvin attended Hickman County High School and was known for his athleticism in football. After graduating from Hickman County High School in 1977, Melvin stayed close to home and married his beautiful loving wife, Mrs. Felicia Roberson. Melvin put in many years of service at the local factories as a supervisor until retirement.
In addition to his mother, Melvin is preceded in death by his grandparents, James, and Bessie McGill.
Those left to cherish Melvin’s memory are his loving wife of 43 years, Felicia Roberson of Centerville, Tennessee, son Matthew (Christina) Roberson of Burns, and son, Isahiah Roberson of Nunnelly, four grandchildren, Desmond Roberson, Gabriel Roberson, Madilynn Roberson, and Alexi Roberson. Also, his siblings: Clinton Roberson of Nashville, Tennessee, Nanassa Roberson Toles, of Nashville, Tennessee, Kimberley Roberson Kelley also of Nashville, Tennessee, and Regina (Perry) Dansby of Centerville, Tennessee, mother and father-in-law, Rubye, and Jim Wells II, Special thanks to brother-in-law Jim Wells III & Donna, sister-in-law Eartha, brother-in-law Jaunet Cathey, Uncle Sonny Booker of Hohenwald and nephew Nathaniel Omarion Roberson.
Extended family members include, auntie Virulence & Ronald Lee of Dresden, Tennessee, who helped raise Melvin from an early age, honorary adoptive mother, Mrs. Momma Clara Shannon, and the late papa Roy Shannon of the Brushy Community, very dear aunt, Mrs. Laura Shay, very special friend, closer than a brother, John Plemmons of the Centerville community, uncle, the late Wilford McGill and Deborah McGill, along with their children all residing in Hohenwald, Tennessee, relatives of the Hornbeak Family residing in Lyles, Tennessee, two very special childhood friends, Tony Robinson and Gordon Gray, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Also, the family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the Hornbeak family, McGill family, Lowe family, Anderson family, Mayberry Family and Centerville Church of Christ, for helping them navigate through this difficult time with all your love and support.

Visitation with the family will be 15 Sep 2023 at 1:30 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. – Hickman County.
