Ms. Mary Katherine “Kat” Roberson was born on April 3, 1935 in Hohenwald to the late Johnny Herman and Roena (Churchwell) Clayton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Melvin “Jenks” Roberson; her brother Jerry (Barbara) Clayton; sister Nina (Claude) Carroll; grandson Shawn Daniel Branch; and nephew Anthony Carroll.

Kat was the best mother and grandmother who loved her daughter and grandchildren dearly. She was kind and nurturing to everyone. She was an amazing cook; her family was always greeted with a spread of food when they arrived for a meal. She was always sure to have her hair done just right, no matter what she had planned for the day. She was an avid yard saler; going to others or having her own. In her spare time she enjoyed going fishing and sewing too.

Kat is survived by her daughter Judy (Clark) Branch; grandchildren Brandon and Daniel; great-grandchildren Abri, Hayden, Amberlynn and Addi; nieces and nephews Gayle Tatum, Terry (Gwenda) Carroll, Kenneth (Jenny) Carroll, Tommy (Sandra) Clayton, Johnny (Kim) Clayton, Lisa (Mike) Harlow, David (Linda) Quillen, Ricky (Melissa) Roberson, Karen (John) Eglinton, Josh Roberson and Adam Roberson; additional niece Duchess Harper.

Visitation will be from 10:00AM – 2:00PM on Sunday, 12 June 2022 at McDonald Funeral Home – Lewis County. Funeral services will follow at 2:00PM with Johnny Clayton officiating. Burial will be at Swiss Cemetery, Hohenwald, TN.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s or to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses.
