Ava Jo McBride Reece, 80, passed away peacefully at NHC Columbia on June 30, 2023.

Jo, as she liked to be called, was born the last of nine children to John Richard McBride and Bessie Duncan McBride on November 9, 1942 in Hickman County, TN.

She worked several years at Hickman County Hospital and retired after 17 years as a LPN at Maury Regional Hospital.

She was a sweet lady and always willing to help others. She was a great cook and wanted to feed you the minute you walked through her door. Jo attended Little Lot Church of Christ, loved to quilt, shop and travel. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved family.

Jo is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, three sisters and her husband of 42 years, Lloyd Reece.

Those left to cherish their memories of Jo are her three sons, Mark (Tammy), Doug (Jill), and David (Amy) of Columbia, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be 3 July 2023 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County.  Funeral Service will be 3 July 2023 at 11:00 AM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County with burial to follow at Milan Cemetery, Centerville, TN.
