Ray, Tommy Wesley
Tommy Wesley Ray, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, at the age of 73, in his hometown of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Born on November 11, 1952, to the late Walter Mitchell and Nina Lavada Brock Ray, Tommy lived a life marked by dedication to his family and community.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved son, Steven Wesley Ray.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Robbie Sue Ray, who has been his steadfast companion through life’s many journeys. Together, they raised a family that includes their son, Justin Ray, and daughter, Susan Ray, both of Lawrenceburg. Tommy was a proud grandfather to two grandsons, Zachary Springer and Jonathan Yocum, four granddaughters, Bailey Kirk, Courtney Yocum, Bella Ray, and Emma Ray, and was blessed to see the joy of his three great-grandchildren, Ellie Springer, Riott Kirk, and Anthem Kirk. His brother, Junior Flavil Ray, and sisters, Reba Kilpatrick, Nora Halfacre, and Sue Churchwell, all of Hohenwald, TN, along with several nieces and nephews, will fondly remember Tommy’s guidance and the happy times shared.
Professionally, Tommy dedicated 42 years of his life to serving the people of Lawrence County as a Supervisor for the Lawrence County EMS and Moore Care. His unwavering commitment to his work was evident in the countless lives he touched through his role in emergency services. Colleagues and community members alike respected Tommy for his leadership, his integrity, and his tireless work ethic.
Beyond his professional achievements, Tommy was a man of many interests. His life was a testament to the joy of simple pleasures and the value of hard work. He was a man who found contentment in the company of his loved ones and fulfillment in the service of others.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg. In accordance with Tommy’s wishes, no services will be held. His family will honor his memory in private.
