Mrs. Qualls was a bus driver in Hickman County for over 30 years.
She was a wonderful Christian woman and was a member at the Upper Sinking Church of Christ for Over 45 years. She was always helping others and taking meals to those who needed them. Her family takes great comfort in knowing she is with the Lord.
She loved going camping. She would take her children and later her grandchildren to different places. Her favorite being the Natchez Trace State Park. Her camping changed over the years from tents and mattresses in truck beds to her and Mr. Franklin owning a Winnebago. She would also take frequent trips down to Cane Creek and shared many days with the grandkids there.
Wanda was all about her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and “Mamaw”. There was no such thing as a quick meal at her house like cereal, poptarts, or a pizza. She made breakfast, packed lunches and cooked dinner every single day, which began around 4:00 am. Family get-togethers around Christmas and Thanksgiving were always a big ordeal, with more food than could possibly be eaten. Some of the family’s favorite dishes were her dressing, green beans, and her Amish bread that took 30 days to make. She always had a meal ready to go in the freezer just in case. She had a talent for keeping up with birthdays and other events and always made sure that a card found a way into the hands of her children and grandchildren on such occasions. She loved her grandkids, and they all loved her. She spent as much time as she could with them camping, traveling to historic places teaching them about history, and sharing stories with them. She was a humble woman, who lived a simple life. She was known to have clothes on the line, and a spotless house.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, neighbors, and all who knew her.
