Qualls, Sarah “Frances”
Mrs. Sarah “Frances” Qualls, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
Born in Beards Town, Tennessee, to the late Jessie Smith Coble and Bertha Curtis Coble, on August 8, 1933. France’s life took a new chapter, after her mother’s passing at the tender age of 3. Frances was embraced into the loving arms of her adopted parents, the late Jim Chandler and Annie Pearl O’Guinn Chandler of Sulfur Creek, Tennessee. From that moment forward, she radiated love and gratitude for the family who embraced and loved her as their own.
Her journey through life was marked by determination and a commitment to service. In her youth, Frances displayed her tenacity on the basketball court during her junior high years, showcasing her spirit and athleticism. Her dedication to making a difference led her to serve at Nacome Church Camp throughout High School, where she touched numerous lives with her kindness and devotion. Post-graduation, Frances contributed her skills and hard work to a General Shoe Boot Company that later changed hands to Georgia Boot Co.
Her front porch was a tapestry of vibrant flowers, a testament to her nurturing spirit and love for nature. Frances loved spending time outdoors doing yard work and mowing but the kitchen was her haven. Frances found joy in preparing meals and treats for those she held dear. She would often cook for families who lost a loved one and deliver it herself. Her coconut cake, Mississippi Mud cake and chocolate oatmeal cookies were cherished by all who had the pleasure of savoring them.
Above all, Frances deeply loved her family. Her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the light of her life along with her Terrier named Rusty. Her adoration for her family was immeasurable, and she found immense joy in their presence. Her home was a sanctuary where laughter echoed and memories were made, fostering a sense of togetherness that will endure through generations and will continue to resonate in their hearts.
In addition to her parents, Frances is preceded in death by her siblings; David Chandler, Wade Chandler, and Harvill Chandler.
