Ava Ann Cross Blackwood Provance, age 80, of Hohenwald, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Lewis County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hohenwald. Funeral service took place Monday, March 25 at 1 p.m. with Jared Powers officiating. Burial followed in the Lomax Cemetery. Mrs. Provance was born December 28, 1938 in Tuscumbia, Alabama to the late John D. Cross and Lydia Ava Rinks Cross. She worked as a nurse. She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Blackwood Collison (George) of Hohenwald and Carla Blackwood Thomas of Nashville; one grandson, Mickey Ray Mohrmann of Columbia; and one granddaughter, Katelyn Collison Powers (Jared) of Hohenwald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Cross Birdsong.
