William Floyd Powell, of Lyles, was born September 2, 1928, in Nunnelly, Tennessee, to the lateJames Elton “Ned” and Mary Minnie Rodgers Powell and died September 3, 2021, at the age of 93 years.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Powell was preceded in death by sons William Powell and Jackie Powell, sisters Betty Richardson, Amy Johnson, Jennie Tyler, and brothers Sam Junior “Jack” Powell, James Powell, and Carless Powell.

Mr. Powell is survived by his wife of 62 years Doris Jenkins Powell, daughter Sherry (Dennis)Tidwell, sons Floyd Powell, Zane Powell, Tandy Powell, Stacey (Lesa) Powell, Barry Todd (Tina) Powell, and Travis (Celene) Powell, brother Ralph Powell, Brother in law Wilson (Margaret) Jenkins, Daughter in law Vickie Powell, and 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends

Mr. Powell was a member of the Church of Christ and worked for TDOT.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, September 4, 2021, at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Graveside Services for Mr. Powell will be Sunday, September 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Plunkett Cemetery, Centerville, TN with Ricky Warren, Dennis Tidwell, and Wilson Jenkins officiating.
