Parks, Troy Lee
Troy Lee Parks, 58, long-time resident of the Shady Grove community, passed Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee. Born April 15, 1967, in Columbia, Tennessee to the late James Lewis Parks and Mary Tom Brooks, he leaves behind his loving wife of 31 years, Angela Warren Parks, two sons, Dalton Lee (McKenzie Lynch) Parks of Centerville and Levi Cameron Parks of Duck River, and a brother, James “Tommy” Parks, of Duck River.
Troy was a wonderful husband, father, and friend. He was a devoted Christian and long-time member of Anderson Bend Church of Christ where he oversaw the youth group for several years. Troy enjoyed sports as well as coaching his sons. He coached countless teams and was a Scout Leader for the local Cub Scouts Troop 511. Troy enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping, appreciating nature, and watching sunsets.
Troy’s services will be held at McDonald Funeral Home in Centerville, Tennessee. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025 with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. and the funeral following at 12:00 p.m., with Stan Butt and Devin Pickard officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Union Cemetery in Duck River, TN.
Active pallbearers are Jeff McCaleb, Trevor Gilmer, Troy Gilmer, Jeff Bishop, Rodney Shaw, Darrin Totty, Kevin Orton, and Ronald Skipper. Honorary pallbearers are James “Jimbo” Patton, Ernie Mobley, and Mark Bentley.
