Palmer, Olive
Ms. Olive Palmer passed peacefully at her Hohenwald home on November 29, 2024, at 99. Olive was born on February 16, 1925, in Lancashire, England to the late Frederick Clutterbuck and Clara Cromack Clutterbuck. In addition to her parents, Olive was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edwin Kenneth Palmer.
Olive was raised in England, just north of London, in the countryside of Lancashire. Years later, she moved to the United States with her mother, Clara, and daughter, Carol, to reunite with her husband and soulmate, Ken, who had moved to Chicago ten months before. After Ken passed away, Olive moved to be closer to her daughter in Aurora, Illinois. After moving to Tennessee with Carol and her family seven years ago, Olive had made Hohenwald her home.
Olive leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Richard Verde; her grandson and his wife, David and Lisa Verde; and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Teagan, and Gannon Verde.
Olive was blessed with family and caregivers who cared for her with love and respect through her final day. Her memory will live on within those who had the tremendous honor of knowing her sweet soul.
To honor Olive’s life, a memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Friday, December 13th at 11:00 a.m. The family will have visitation beginning at 10:00 and continuing until service time.
McDonald Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Palmer family.
