Edna Floy Overby, 93, of Nashville, formerly of Hohenwald, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at Lakeshore Wedgewood Retirement Center in Nashville. The funeral will be held at McDonald Funeral Home on Friday July 19 at 11:00 a.m. with L.C. Loveless, Minister of the Gordonsburg Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in the Swiss Cemetery. Mrs. Overby was born February 12, 1909 in Hickman County. She was the daughter of the late Leonard “Lennie” and Allie Anderson Aydelott. She was a teacher in the Lewis and Hickman County School Systems for 32 years. Survivors include her husband, James Bascom Overby of Goodlettsville; 2 daughters, Lennie Gayle Nelson of Walling and Carol Winn of Goodlettsville; 4 brothers, Prince Aydelott of Dickson, LT and Horace Aydelott of Centerville, and Gray Aydelott of Deland, Florida; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Grace Haynes, and 2 brothers, Clyde and Wright Aydelott.
