Osborne, Doris Skelton
Doris Skelton Osborne, 95 years old, of Summerfield, Florida, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 27, 2025. She was born on November 15, 1929 in Lewis County, Tennessee, to Albert and Bessie Skelton. She was the 8th of 13 children.
Doris worked as a seamstress for Lady Bayard in Ocala, Florida, for several years. She left the workforce to become a full-time caregiver to her husband until the time he passed away. She enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family and was a wonderful cook. She also had a love for gardening, both flowers and vegetables which she would can from time to time when she could. Doris also loved to travel and collected rocks from the many places she had visited.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory nine children Delores (Kim) Andrei, Cecil B (Sheila) Osborne Jr, Christopher (Carol) Osborne, Treasia Osborne Papa, Gail Osborne Stroud, Laura (Jerry) Barone, Thomas (Linda) Osborne, Ronald (Ronda) Osborne, and Lesa (Brian) Brown. 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and one soon to be great great grandson. Also, many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She is proceeded in death by her husband of 61 years, Cecil B Osborne Sr., one grandchild, Aaron Stroud, and 12 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services for Doris were held Thursday, March 6, at 1 p.m. at Roberts Downtown Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, Doris requested donations be given to your local Salvation Army.
Our mom was the glue that held our family to each other. She loved her family with all her heart and soul and prayed for each one of us daily. She will be greatly missed. Rest in peace Mom until we meet again.
