Jane P Oatts, of Cottontown, TN formerly of Hohenwald, passed away at her residence on Monday, November 25, 2019 at the age of 93. She was born on April 23, 1926 to the late John Phifer and Mary (Townsend) Phifer. 

She graduated from Hume- Fogg High School in Nashville.  After graduating she became a Meter Maid in Nashville where she worked for many years.

In 1964 she married the late Richard Oatts, together they had a daughter Cherlyn. After leaving Nashville, the family moved to Hohenwald, TN where she began a long career of 20+ years with the Hohenwald Police Department working as a dispatcher.

She attended the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Hohenwald, and was member of the Eastern Star. In her spare time she loved to cook and bake for family and friends. 

Survivors include: Daughter Cherlyn (Stephen) Johnson of Cottontown, TN and Granddaughter Brandy (Steven) Edwards of Cottontown, TN. 

She is preceded in death by her parents John & Mary Phifer, husband Richard Oatts and a brother John Phifer. 

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 29, 2019 at 12:00 PM at Lewis County Memorial Gardens, Hohenwald, TN.
