Virgil “Herby” Hardeman Nolen was born April 22, 1935 to the late Morris and Mary Leathers Nolen, and departed this life on June 14, 2022 at the age of 87.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by sons Scotty and Tim Nolan; brother S. T. Nolan; sisters Joanne Barnhill, and Polly Thornton.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jean Rochelle Nolen, daughter, Jolene (Tony) Martin, German-born children, Larry Kahner, Cornelia (Manfred) Reith, sister, Iona Springer; grandchildren, Daniel, Paige and Evan, German-born grandchildren Christopher, Alexander, Sondra, Stephanie, and Remona with several great grandchildren.

Mr. Nolen served his country with the United States Army, his community until retirement as a corrections officer, and his family as a loving husband, father, and brother. 

Visitation with the family will be 17 June 2022 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County.  Funeral Services will be 18 June 2022 at 2:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Centerville, TN.
