Ramona Dale (Defoe) Nicholson, age 92, of Hohenwald, was born September 18, 1928 in Hohenwald, TN, the daughter of Herbie and Clarice Defoe, passed away on November 5, 2020.  Ramona had one brother, Jones Craig Defoe, deceased.

Ramona married Guy J. Nicholson in 1946, they were married 71 years, and had 2 children, Don and Amy. Ramona and Guy moved to Sparta, Cookeville, and Kingsport, TN as Guy’s career progressed. It was in Sparta that Ramona owned and operated a beauty school and where they met their lifelong friends Drake (deceased) and Margaret Anderton. At the end of Guy’s career he was transferred back to their home area of Tennessee where Ramona was so happy to spend the last 40 years of her life surrounded by family and friends.

Ramona worked in the Lewis County School System as a teacher’s aid. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed crocheting, painting, and antiques. She loved spending time with family and friends, and she never met a stranger with whom she didn’t strike up a conversation.

She is survived by Son, Donald (Patricia) Nicholson of White House, TN, Daughter, Amy Nicholson of Hohenwald, 3 Grandchildren, Kyle Runions, Matthew Nicholson & Emily Nicholson and 4 Great Grandchildren. 

A private family service is scheduled for November 15.
