Newman, Robert, Jr
Robert “Bob” Newman, Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on March 10, 2024, in Hermitage. Born to Mary Louise Newman (Harman) and Robert Newman, Sr. on March 19, 1955, Bob was a native of East Brunswick, New Jersey until he moved to Hohenwald, where he spent the past 18 years.
Bob’s early years were shared with his brothers, Charles, William and Richard, creating a tapestry of memories filled with laughter, mischief, camaraderie, and many backyard baseball games. A graduate of East Brunswick in 1973, he carried his talent for all things mechanical into his career where he excelled as a machine mechanic for various companies, including Loreal, where he proudly served on a project in Switzerland.
Bob found solace in the serenity of nature. His hobbies included fishing, camping, and watching football. He was an avid Miami Dolphins fan and especially enjoyed trout fishing. Bob was also an expert pool player.
Bob’s memory will be kept alive by his surviving children, Danielle (George) Bellino, Robert Gene (Jennifer); ex-wife, Deborah; step-children, Jeannette Olshefski, Christopher (Melissa) Olshefski; cherished grandchildren, Bianca, Briella, and Brayden; brothers, William, Richard (Jeannie); and nieces Sarah, Rebekah, and Hannah; and dear friend Jim Wallace.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Charles.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at the Mount Carmel Cemetery.
