Age 75, of Hohenwald, died Monday, November 19, 2007 at Alive Hospice at St. Thomas in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 24, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of McDonald Funeral Home with Tom Eddins and David Adcox officiating. Tommy Stroop, Bobby Page, Dempsy Goodman, Terry Bunch, Steve Selby and Bill Skelton will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of the Hohenwald Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Swiss Cemetery. Mrs. Griner was the daughter of the late Arch Ray, Sr. and Fannie Guthrie Brown. She is preceded in death by her brother, Arch Brown, Jr., and two sisters, Carldean Welch and Mildred Kimbro. Survivors include her husband, Philip Griner; one son, Ray (Royanne) Stubblefield of Franklin; a daughter, Marti (Jody) Mason of Brentwood; two grandsons, Joel and Grant Mason of Brentwood and a step-grandson, Robert Walsh of Knoxville. Visitation with the family will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Alive Hospice. They would also like to express their appreciation to Dr. Patrick Murphy and Staff of Tennessee Oncology, Oncology Staff at Williamson Medical Center and Alive Hospice at St. Thomas.

Burial will follow in Swiss Cemetery. Born in Hohenwald, Tennessee on February 29, 1924, she was a long-time member of St. Luke United Methodist in Columbia. Survivors include her sister, Wilma K. Jones; brother, Kenneth M. Kistler; daughter, Trinace Haskins Campbell of Murfreesboro; son, Tommy Alan Haskins of Hohenwald; daughter-in-law, Tammie Fuller Haskins; son-in-law, Reverend William Spiller Campbell; granddaughters, Eryn Elizebeth Campbell and Lindsay Haskins Ware; niece, Diane Frogue; nephews, Robert Frogue and George Curtis Kistler. Serving as Pallbearers are Carson Walls, Ronnie Pitts, Kenneth Pitts, Andrew Neal, Jay Wing, Jeff Estes, Overton Campbell and Robert Frogue. Honorary Pallbearers are John Eugene Johnson, Edward Lucas, Edwin Estes, James Campbell, Baxter Blackburn, Cecil Conner, Pete Harlan and Carter Johnson. Age 78 of Hohenwald, April 16, 2007. He was born on November 10, 1928 in Fayetteville, TN. Son of Clyde Odil and Sannie Loveless Odil. He was retired from DuPont and Spontex. Preceded in death by his son, Ricky Odil; sister, Joanne Odil Thompson and parents. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Ann Humphreys Odil; daughter, Sharon (Larry) Ingram; son, Tony (Renee) Odil; grandchildren, Leza (Jason) Sparks, Mason Ingram, Chelsea Odil, Carly Odil and Rick Odil; great-grandchil-dren, Bayleigh Sparks and Brooklyn Sparks. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 11 a.m., in the funeral home chapel.

Sherrel Brown O’GUIN
Age 99 of Hohenwald, died May 22, 2007 at Lewis County Manor. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, 2 p.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Wayne Baker officiating. Burial to follow in the Downey Cemetery. He was the son of the late Robert and Aura Brown O’Guin. He was married to Mable Lynch O’Guin for 71 years until her death in October of 2002. Mr. O’Guin was a faithful member of the Church of Christ, serving as Sunday School teacher and treasurer for the Kimmins congregation for many years. He had been employed by Oakland Motors in Pontiac MI, Dupont in Old Hickory and Genesco in Hohenwald, before being appointed as Clerk and Master of Lewis County Chancery Court. He served in this position for 20 years, before retiring at age 78 in 1985. His love of farming and gardening was evident by the years he spent on his Massey Ferguson tractor, doing custom work around Hohenwald and Lewis County. He is survived by one daughter, Eliese Skelton of Hohenwald; one sister, Lois Lynch of Taylor, MI; four grandchildren, Connie Cannon, Tammy Young, Steve Skelton and Greg Hankins, all of Hohenwald; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Edward and Mike O’Guin, and two daughters, Shirley Hankins and June Rainey; two sisters, Alber Vetie Williams and Louise Baker; and a son-in-law, Tommy Joe Skelton.
