Matthew Marlin Murphy, age 32, who recently moved to Columbia after having lived many years in College Station, Texas, died December 7, 2010 in Pulaski. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 12, 2010 in the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel in Hohenwald with Chris Schrader officiating. Burial took place in the Barber Family Cemetery on Trace Creek Road. Mr. Murphy was born August 14, 1978 in Lewis County to Marty Murphy and Karen Barber Kendrick. Survivors include his wife, Sara Murphy; his mother and step-father, Larry Kendrick of Columbia; his father and step-mother, Debbie Murphy, also of Columbia; sisters, Mandy Pettis (Nick) and Marsha Murphy, both of Columbia; half-sisters, Marissa Murphy of Murfreesboro and Meaghan Murphy of Columbia; nieces, Alischa, Ashland, and Addison Pettis, Jeweliah Fry, and Kaleah Murphy; grandparents, Lester Gene Barber and Linda Kay Parker, both of Hohenwald; aunts, Debra Gowie (Bruce) and Leah and Katelyn of Avon, Colorado, Phyllis Renee Leonard (Bart) and Reyne and Sam, Melinda Ward (David); uncles, Jason Barber (Amber), Mickey Murphy (Kay) and children, Mike Murphy and family; and Jessica Roden (Billy) and Bobby and Rodney and families; also many friends in Texas. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Orfice and Frances Murphy.
