Karen Elaine Murphy was born June 27, 1955 and died Saturday Feb.16, 2019, making her life here 63 years, 7 months, and 17 days. A native of Hickman County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Will and Devetta Tarkington Murphy.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Valorie McVetty.

Survivors include her sister Ronda (Thomas) Cox, Brother in Law Christopher McVetty, nieces and nephews Selinda (Aaron) McCumbers, Walter (Tennille) McVetty, Natalie (Robert) Rickerson, Justin (Brittany) Cox, Great niece and nephews William McCumbers, Nolan Rickerson, Conley Rickerson, Foster Rickerson, and Lilah Rickerson, along with many other relatives and friends.

Karen was an active member and secretary of the Edgewood Baptist Church and a special education resource teacher for 40 years.

Memorial Donations in Karen’s memory may be made to the Imagination Library.

Visitation will be 19 Feb, 2019, 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County. The Funeral Service will be held at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County on 20 Feb 2019 at 1:00 PM. Burial will be at Campground Cemetery, Centerville, TN.
