James Oscar Morton was born on January 24, 1944, in Hohenwald, Tennessee. He passed away on November 1, 2019, in Dickson, Tennessee. He was 75 years 9 months and 7 days old. He was the son of the late Raymond Oscar and Ruby Dailey Morton.

He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Lynn Morton and sisters, Lena Mae Wolf and Earlene Morton.

He is survived by his daughter, Belinda Tinin of Lyles. Son, Ricky James Morton of Nashville. seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones.

Mr. Morton worked in several occupations over the years. Most recently, before retirement, he worked in a warehouse. Before that, he had been a guard at a prison, and a pipe fitter. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing. He frequented many of the local lakes including Bowie Nature Park and Williamsport Lake. He liked to catch catfish but would settle for whatever was biting at the time. He was a great and loving dad and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Morton will have his ashes buried in his family cemetery.
